Why we built workflows↗
Today, we're excited to announce the public beta of Profound [Workflows](/workflows), a new way for marketing teams to automate content operations that help them win in the rapidly changing landscape of AI search.
Over the past year, we've had thousands of conversations with content, SEO, and growth teams across some of the most sophisticated organizations in the world. Nearly all of them told us the same thing: content operations are still far too manual, and traditional tooling hasn't kept up with how people search, evaluate, and discover information today.
Workflows is our answer to that problem.
How it works↗
Marketing and SEO teams are operating in a world where:
- Content performance is influenced by dozens of signals across channels
- Search experiences are increasingly conversational and intent-driven
- High-velocity iteration is critical, but teams remain bottlenecked by repetitive tasks
- Cross-functional subject-matter experts are overloaded, leaving marketers struggling to scale production while maintaining quality
We saw an opportunity to bring structure to this complexity and give teams an automated system that can consume [billions of AI responses](/research), evaluate the content cited as answer sources, identify opportunities, and actually do the work required to act on these insights at scale.
Early teams using Workflows↗
Just as importantly, we wanted to build something that reduces the operational load on marketers rather than adding to it. As one early partner put it, their workflows were "being held together by duct tape, willpower and spreadsheets."
That's what led to Profound Workflows: a flexible automation layer built directly on top of our [AEO platform](/platform), capable of running deep analysis, generating insights, and powering downstream content operations with zero routine manual effort.
